You know how much I love essential oils, what you might not know is I have a daily routine of putting on my ‘5-minute face’ with a little makeup. Now that I live in the south though, it’s clear I need to up my game and bump it to a ’10 minute face’– everyone here looks so put together!
Your skin is your largest organ and absorbs whatever you put on it, so I take care to use mostly natural makeup (Young Living has a line called Savvy Minerals and it’s wonderful.) It would be a shame to then use chemicals to wipe it all off, so here’s a popular recipe for DIY makeup wipes that you can use to remove makeup… naturally.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN MAKEUP REMOVER WIPES
NOTE: It’s important to use care with essential oils around your eyes and nose, so please use caution when trying this recipe and using the wipes as everyone reacts differently. You may wish to start with just one drop each of the essential oils, though the following recipe is my favorite skin-supporting blend.
INGREDIENTS:
2 Tbsp. Young Living V6 vegetable oil complex (or other skin-supporting carrier oil like Argan Oil)
4 drops lavender oil
2 drops frankincense oil
1 Tbsp. alcohol-free witch hazel
2 Tbsp. filtered water
airtight container (such as these 4 oz. mini mason jars)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step One: Pour liquid ingredients into a jar, fasten the lid, and shake.
Step Two: Add cotton pads in a jar, refasten lid, and swirl until soaked thoroughly.
Step Three: Store in an airtight container. That’s it, seriously!

Materials
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil complex
- 4 drops lavender oil
- 2 drops frankincense oil

- 10 round cotton makeup pads
- airtight container
Instructions
Pour liquid ingredients into a jar, fasten lid, and shake
Add cotton pads in a jar, refasten lid, and swirl until soaked throughly
Store in an airtight container
Voila! In under 5 minutes, you have powerful yet natural make-up remover wipes ready to go. I like to put a few in a baggie when I travel and use them on-the-go. #travelhack
